Yesterday saw the meeting of Peace Lodge of MMMs No 681 at Uppermill Masonic Hall, where some 60 Brethren from West Yorkshire and East Lancashire Provinces got together to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of that Lodge.
Why East Lancs Masons you may well ask? During the presentation of the history of the Lodge, the reason became clear – the Founders of more “East meets West at Peace Mark 681 (West Yorks)”
On Tuesday 19th March, 22 Acting Provincial Officers of the year accompanied the PGM RWBro Alexander Sillars McLaren together with his Deputy PGM VWBro John Hartley Smith and Assistant PGMs WBro Gerald Noel Howard Young and VWBro David Hedley Thompson to the more “St Andrews Mark Lodge No 34 – 150th Celebration Meeting”
Apologies seemed to go on for quite a while as 10 members names were read out as not being able to attend the lodge meeting. It seemed a lot yet the Lodge room felt pleasantly occupied. The March Meeting of Adoniram Mark Lodge 1065 was planned as a lecture which included a visit by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master VWBro David Hedley Thompson accompanied by more “Adoniram 1065 – few but generous Mark Masons.”
Way out on the outer rim of the Province deep in darkest Burnley works a small Mark Lodge know as Scarlett with Gawthorpe No 1014. Merrily working away at Mark Masonry in a happy and content manner at Burnley Masonic Hall. The hall itself is a bit too big for this Mark Lodge but i more “Merrily working away at Mark Masonry”
George Farnworth Nuttall Mark Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1405 were very pleased to hear they had almost achieved Patron Status in their 2021 Festival efforts.
The latest meeting of GF Nuttall on the more “GF Nuttal 1405 – Patron Honorific not far away.”
The Provincial Grand Master did say he would keep the toast list short and his speech to a very minimum, and true to his word he did. The toast to the Queen took place and he was on his feet for less than 5 mins, promoting the main theme of the evening, to enjoy ourselves and the more “17th Assembly of Mark Lodge Masters and Royal Ark Mariner Commanders Dinner”
The newly installed Commander knew he had to deliver the opening and closing ritual in the RAM plus, as Gawthorpe RAM and Shuttleworth Allied Council share the same night, he had the same to deliver in the Allied Masonic Degree too. If you know these two orders then you are aware the ritual for both is similar but different enough to really throw you at certain parts more “Gawthorpe Ram receives 2021 Honorific”
