ALL PROCEEDS TO EAST LANCS MARK BENEVOLENT FUND
The main task that is given to the EL Mark Provincial Grand Charity Steward is to raise funds for the ELMBF. (Priors Close and Cannons Close). This year there will be a sponsored walk from Littleborough to Rochdale along the Rochdale Canal to Richard Street Masonic Hall, Rochdale, where refreshments are available.
This will take place on Sunday 20th May 2018. Dog walkers and children walkers will be especially welcome.
My request is that each Lodge has someone to represent their lodge to be sponsored for this easy ramble. It is on the flat on a well maintained tow path. There is a sponsor sheet which participants are encouraged to get friends and family to sponsor them.
Each lodge will be credited with the amount raised by the sponsored walker or walkers.
With your assistance this should make a very enjoyable and convivial event that will raise much needed funds for the ELMBF.
Information
The meeting point will be 9.30am Sunday 20th May 2018 at the Masonic Hall at Richard Street where we walk a short distance around to the Railway Station and catch the train to Littleborough. Coming out of the station and down the ramp keep to the left and arrive at an underpass. Go through the underpass and you will see the canal to the right. The tow path is well maintained and allows good dry walking.
The tow path towards Rochdale is on the right and 3.5 miles later the canal path emerges onto Oldham Road. To the right is a set of traffic lights where you cross over onto Durham Street over the short rise and turn right into Lincoln Street which continues onto Richard Street and back to the Masonic Hall, where sandwiches and chips will be available. Be sure to book them on arrival at Richard Street before setting off.
The event will commence at 1.00pm and conclude at 4.00pm and is open to all Masons and Non-Masons.
Tickets are available from the Mark Fellowship Representatives, whose details are on the East Lancashire Mark Website (eastlancsmark.org) or from John Rimmer (jmrimmer@talktalk.net; telephone 01772616497 or 07761286768).
The cost of the tickets are £7 for Adults and £3 for Children. The ticket price includes the cost of food with a Vegetarian option being available.
During the afternoon there will be a Brass Band and other entertainment.
The Mark Fellowship Committee and myself look forward to your support.
Yours sincerely and fraternally

Brethren,
It is my intention to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in three days in the company of my Son, David and my Grandson, Joshua who is 10yrs of age. Joshua overheard my plans to complete the Challenge and immediately volunteered to complete the task, knowing what the reason was, namely, to raise funds for Charity the East Lancashire Masonic Benevolent Fund (ELMBF).
The Challenge will take place I feel I do not have to remind the Mark Masons of the Province of the worked carried out by the ELMBF, but its funds do require constant replenishing. This task will commence on the 26th April on Ben Nevis in Scotland, followed by Scafell Pike, in the Lake District concluding with Snowdon in Wales.
To support the ELMBF, I respectfully request that you do so my sponsoring by completing the attached sponsorship form and if appropriate ‘ticking’ the Gift Aid declaration. Please return the Sponsorship Form and Funds for the attention of: –
